Annecy Snapshots

Growing up in the centre of Beijing, I got used to three things – buildings, crowds, and traffic, and always justified it by saying, “I’m a city girl, I could NEVER live in a small town.” Unfortunately, my determination in remaining a city girl for life is starting to waver after 24 hours here in Annecy, a small mountain town nestled under the French Alps, by the Franco-Swiss border. Although the weather was sub-par and we were positively freezing on the lake cruise, Annecy’s indescribable beauty allowed me to fully live out my Alpine fantasy, a la Heidi – a book I was fervently obsessed with as a kid. Who knows, maybe the neon lights of the big city are not really for me after all…
